About
How Westwild was made
The setting, lore, the Gazette and the rules of Westwild are written by me, Anthony "Othello" Merriweather, without AI. I proofread with Grammarly's grammar checking. I wrote the rules and tested them over and over in Foundry VTT, using online dice rollers.
The website, the character builder, the DM and Player decks and the other tools were built by me directing an AI coding assistant. I decided what each tool does, reviewed and tested every part, and corrected what it got wrong. The AI wrote much of the code.
All art on this site was made by people. The pixel map is by Michelle (mich-spich.carrd.co). The Gazette stamps, dividers, backgrounds and textures are mine, built in Canva from its library elements.
Westwild is free to play and free for noncommercial use. If you want to make money with it, request a license: see the LICENSE and COMMERCIAL_LICENSE files in the download. It is free and source-available, not open source.
The campaign builder is still in development and is not part of this release.
