About and credits
I am Anthony “Othello” Merriweather (say it “Awthello”), an independent writer, game designer and producer in Mishawaka, Indiana. I write fiction under the pen name LoveBrain.
What is made by whom
- Writing. All fiction and all of Westwild’s setting, lore, rules and Gazette are written by me, with zero AI (see the note in the library). I proofread with Grammarly’s grammar checking.
- Art. Made by people. Westwild’s pixel map is by Michelle (mich-spich.carrd.co). Book covers, title cards, stamps, dividers and backgrounds were made by me in Canva. The Blue Veil cover uses character art drawn and illustrated by DatDude, laid out by me in Canva.
- Software and code. I am not a programmer. It is built by me directing an AI coding assistant, and I test and decide everything. See AI-assisted software and code.
- Rules. Written by me and playtested repeatedly in Foundry VTT with online dice rollers.
- Audio for clients. Directed AI voices with sound design, labeled as AI narrated, with a person listening to every line before it ships.
An old name
Older editions of some of my stories carry the name Vicious Darkstar. That was an old writing alias of mine, and it ended badly. As an experiment in learning AI, I let a bot run the alias’s Twitter account. Over about three months it drifted into insulting people, and I shut the account down. I do not use social media personally. It was a lesson in what happens when you hand the keys to a bot, and I retired the name afterward. My writing now appears under LoveBrain and my own name.
